Horse Charges Into Danger To Save Friends Stuck In Wildfire

Stories of courage and hope are emerging from the smoke and flames as wildfires advance around California.

But as you’ll discover, not all heroes are people.

On Wednesday morning, a news crew from CBS LA was on hand at a blaze near Simi Valley while first responders and volunteers worked to save horses on properties threatened by the fire. It was then that something incredible happened.

A camera was rolling when one horse, who’d apparently already been rescued, was seen racing back into the smoldering terrain. Turns out, still trapped were two other horses who needed to be led to safety.

And as video of the remarkable moment shows, that’s exactly what the first horse did:

Hundreds of horses and other animals have been rescued from the wildfires so far, thanks to the bravery shown by those on the ground.

The Humane Society of Ventura County, serving the Simi Valley area, is one organization now keeping them safe.
