The Owner Discovers Her Dog Having A Hidden Relationship

This is Murphy, a jovial canine that enjoys nothing more than meeting new people. He hasn’t actually met a person or animal that he doesn’t like.

However, it turns out that one of Murphy’s most intimate connections is one he has been maintaining covertly.

Murphy’s owner, Jo-Hannah Jamieson, let him out into the backyard a few of months ago because she thought he needed to go outside to relieve himself. Jamieson was shocked to see that Murphy was truly combining “business” with pleasure.

On that particular day, Murphy headed straight for the yard’s rear as Jamieson watched. A hand then appeared through a gap in the fence and began to pet and scratch Murphy.

Here is a clip of Murphy using the hand:

The hand evidently belongs to Jamieson’s neighbor — obviously a dog lover. It’s unclear exactly when these little rendezvous began. But it’s been no one-time thing.

“Every time I let Murphy out, he goes to the back fence to see if [my neighbor] is there,” Jamieson told The Dodo. “I think Murphy gets at least one pet a day [from him].”

Murphy gets plenty of love and attention from his owner. But apparently the hand’s still just too good to pass up.

Jamieson is sympathetic when asked whether there are any resentments over Murphy’s potential preference for the neighbor’s petting. After all, they had been quite isolated lately.

“He just speaks to me about the lockdown and “work from home.” So, according to Jamieson, I believe he enjoys receiving pets from someone else for a change. But I’m glad he has some social interaction. He certainly enjoys company. Knowing that Murphy has supportive neighbors is good.

Jamieson suggested a real meeting with the neighbor as soon as things started to get back to normal so Murphy could get to know the guy behind the hand. They won’t, however, allow anything as trivial as a fence to keep them apart in the interim.
