To see Bruno now, happy and loved in his new forever home, you’d never guess there was once a place he’d been unwelcome.

Lujan Videla and her partner were wandering near their house in Argentina the other day when they came upon a dog they’d never seen before, alone on a street corner. Bruno was the culprit.

Videla told The Dodo, “He felt so alone and lost.” “I instructed my partner to remain with him and wait for his owner to emerge,” she said.

But no one ever showed up.

Lujan Videla and her companion were out walking near their home in Argentina when they came upon a dog they had never seen before, alone on a street corner. Bruno was the perpetrator.

“He felt so alone and lost,” Videla told The Dodo. “I told my boyfriend to stay with him and wait for his owner,” she explained.

However, no one showed up.

Talking to a resident of the building, Videla and her boyfriend came to learn that, up until recently, Bruno had lived there with an older man. It’s believed that the man may have passed away, or was forced to move out suddenly.

Somewhere along the way, Bruno found himself alone without a home — a fact that was lost on him. Though some residents had taken pity and began feeding him out front, he was so determined to enter the building that management had made the sign so no one would let him in.

Videla stated, “It makes you understand how insensitive people can be.” “Bruno was in a bad mood. He was frantic to get in.”

Videla and her partner made the decision to assist.

Videla and her partner spread the word about Bruno after they took him home, just in case his former owner or the man’s family were looking for him. But it was in vain. They recognized how devastated Bruno was at that point.

After his forlorn vigil at the door ended, the truth of his loss appeared to seep in over the next few days.

However, things quickly improved.

Surrounded by his rescuers’ love and care, Bruno’s broken heart began to heal.

“The days went by and his face changed,” Videla said. “He began to be happy.”

Videla and her partner were unable to adopt Bruno since they already had six rescue dogs at home. They did, however, the next best thing.

They were able to find him a lifelong home.

Videla explained, “He was adopted by a very trustworthy guy who lives across the street from me.” “We go on walks as a group. He is overjoyed.”

Videla is still bothered by the fact that the apartment building’s management didn’t do more to help Bruno, but she hopes his experience will inspire more compassion for pups like him.

“Some people don’t realize that they are living beings that feel the same as us,” Videla said, adding that now: “Bruno’s like a whole new dog.”
