The two male zookeepers did not hesitate to get into the water to save a baby zebra’s life minutes after it had just been born.

In Spain, at the Valencia Bioparc, the little zebra was taking its first steps when it got into trouble after stumbling in a watering hole.

Two zookeepers noticed the situation and quickly acted to save the animal’s life.

The mother said to be named La Nina or “The Girl,” appeared distressed as she witnessed her newborn becoming helpless.

According to Happiest, La Nina was in a monitored labor situation when she gave birth.

After the umbilical cord was cut, the male baby zebra attempted to take his first steps when he accidentally fell into the watering hole.

The viral video showed a panicked-looking La Nina as she appeared helpless and unable to save her newborn baby.

Soon enough, the two zookeepers, without hesitation, saved the baby zebra by getting into the water and grabbing the poor animal.

At first, La Nina seemed to dislike the idea that the zookeepers were close to her baby. Perhaps it was her maternal instincts that made her very protective of her young.
Although, when she realized the two men were trying to save her baby, she calmed down and let them help her rescue the young zebra.

Seconds later, the zookeepers managed to carry the baby zebra out of the water and led him under to his mother’s side.
As soon as the mother and baby zebras were together, the two men backed off towards the water and let the mother nurture her newborn.

According to Metro, it takes about 15 minutes for a newborn zebra to learn how to stand and use its legs in the wild. This ability is quite helpful as they can run alongside their mothers and stay away from potential predators.

In another viral story, a tourist at the Kruger National Park in Africa saved an Impala that got stuck in the mud.

The poor animal was left alone since its herd had already walked away when it got trapped in the wet dirt.

Fortunately, a kind man went out of his way to help save the wild creature.
