At Zoo Atlanta in Georgia, this is the lovely moment a toddler costumed as a lion baby interacts with a large lion through the safety of a glass. Cami Fanning, the toddler’s godfather, shot the footage and uploaded it online. Because of the toddler’s sweetness and the large cat’s amusing reaction, it rapidly went viral and swept the Internet by storm.
“For a small god family trip, my close friend and I brought our 11-month-old godson to Zoo Atlanta,” Cami writes. Our godson’s name is Aryeh, which in Hebrew means lion, therefore his mother brought his lion outfit.”
As you can see in the video, Aryeh maintains a calm and interested demeanor as he approaches the glass and attempts to make friends with the lion. The large cat sniffs the glass, then glances at the infant before pawing at the barrier. The cat turns away when it learns it can’t touch Aryeh.
The godparent wrote, “The lions were instantly fascinated in our tiny lion cub, and it wasn’t long until they couldn’t contain their curiosity any more and came right up to the glass.”
“Aryeh was unaffected by the lions and even chatted with them for a few minutes!” We took a few photos and videos before moving on since the lions were becoming a bit agitated and we didn’t want to stress them out. It was fantastic! Definitely a fond experience from our first outing as a godfamily!”
