Woman Finds Someone Else After Using A Hidden Camera To Look For A Lost Dog

Devon Thomas Treadwell set out to locate Mimi, a missing puppy who was said to be in the neighborhood. In the hopes that Mimi might pass by for a snack, Thomas Treadwell placed bowls of water and peanut butter in front of a tiny motion-activated video camera on a farm in Minnesota.

However, when Thomas Treadwell looked at her video, she discovered someone altogether different.

“I was amused to see him,” Thomas Treadwell told The Dodo. “We don’t get woodchucks on camera very often at our feeding stations.”

The mischievous little woodchuck, who clearly didn’t understand the stakes of the situation, had lots of fun tipping the camera over, much to Thomas Treadwell’s annoyance.

There are many of woodchucks in Minnesota. This one returned a few times after discovering what appeared to be a private water dish.

The Retrievers volunteer missing dog team’s founder and director, Thomas Treadwell, didn’t allow the prankster visitor stand in the way of locating Mimi, though.

It turns out that Mimi was at a separate feeding station a mile away when the woodchuck was taking advantage of his free water. After carefully navigating a canal, Thomas Treadwell’s crew assisted in rescuing Mimi and reunited the dog with her thankful, relieved owners.

Mimi’s family is so glad that she’s safe. And somewhere in Minnesota, a very well-hydrated little woodchuck is surely feeling glad, too.
