Little kids forming strong, special ties with animals is a fairly typical (and mainly joyful) sight. Those beautiful interactions, on the other hand, are more likely to occur with puppies or kittens than with wild creatures. As a result, a young youngster forming a particular bond with a massive stingray isn’t something you’ll see every day!
On top of it, the boy’s unusual friend is living in the ocean. But that doesn’t stop Joel to interact with his giant buddy. In fact, the little boy waits every morning on the dock for his friend to greet him. In exchange, the little human offers it some fresh fish!
The strange meeting took place at Gran Rey, a tiny fishing community on the Canary Islands with a population of about 4,000 people. A tranquil setting where people still have a deep bond with the natural world. Bycatch is generally returned to the waterways, attracting huge marine species such as stingrays, because youngsters spend their days fishing on the stairs near the village’s port.
Even yet, it’s a sight to witness to see a tiny child giving food to such a massive gentle giant. Fortunately, a traveler caught the wonderful event on camera and published it to YouTube. The video went viral as planned, with around 60 million views so far.
Even though, watching Joel feeding and petting his unlikely friend is heartwarming, you still need to know those are wild animals and although stingrays are not typically aggressive, one wrong move could be deadly.
