While stationed abroad, Army Sergeant Webb stumbled upon a little stray puppy in need of assistance.
Of a bunch of stray dogs, the thin black and brown puppy was the weakest, and Sergeant Webb could not bear to see her suffer. She took immediate action and began rearing the puppy, which she named PupPup, in addition to her other duties.
However, when Webb’s tour ended sooner than expected, she worried she’d have to leave PupPup behind. After so long caring for the puppy, the two had formed an incredible bond.
Webb reached out to Paws of War, a nonprofit that helps active military personnel bring animals they’ve rescued back to the States, hoping that they could help PupPup.
“I’m desperately asking Paws of War to help me bring my beautiful, helpless PupPup back to America with me because I can’t stand the thought of leaving her behind,” Webb wrote to Paws of War. “This spot can be very harsh to dogs and I fear she will die if she is left behind. Plus, we have formed such a strong bond that means everything to me. I can’t turn my back on her and would be forever grateful for the help to get her home.”
Co-founder of Paws of War Robert Misseri got to work on PupPup’s case right away. While [Webb] was still in the service, we arrived on the scene, Misseri told The Dodo. She was about a week and a half away from departing, so we were aware of our limited time to get PupPup.
PupPup was quarantined in a foster home until she could leave the country after first being taken to the veterinarian for vaccinations. PupPup was finally allowed to board a plane to her new life after four flights were cancelled.

Webb couldn’t believe it was actually happening when PupPup arrived safely.
She didn’t believe it till she eventually arrived there, according to Misseri. Every day since, she has phoned and texted me to express her disbelief that PupPup is with her. She claimed that having to leave PupPup there would have been really difficult for her.
Sergeant Webb and PupPup are delighted to be back together and have continued where they left off.
They are no longer separate, according to Misseri.
