After Receiving A Chair That Matches His Mother’s The Dog Can’t Stop Smiling

Lindsay Dyer usually enjoys cuddling with her dog, Franklin, a dachshund mix. However, the rescue dog may be needy at times, especially when Dyer has to go to work.

Dyer told The Dodo, “He’s a really chill child.” “As long as he’s with his people or his cat sibling, Bagheera,” says the narrator.

Franklin regards his mother sitting in the cozy chair as an invitation for cuddling, whereas Dyer prefers to work from a gray wingback recliner. That arrangement wasn’t working for Dyer, so he came up with the ideal remedy.

“When the pandemic hit, I went full-time remote and spent a lot of time attempting to type with a dog on my lap,” Dyer said. “I noticed a similar kid chair at IKEA. I went to purchase him his own chair the first day IKEA reopened in the hopes that it would make him quit taking mine.”

“It was completely selfish of me to purchase him his own chair,” she continued.

When Dyer brought the tiny matching chair home, she placed Franklin’s favorite stuffed toy on it and he immediately realized what that meant. The look on Franklin’s face was priceless.

“Needless to say, he’s very pleased,” Dyer said. “It’s his favorite spot in my office.”

However, Franklin’s cat brother also likes the tiny chair and has decided it’s his special place, too. Luckily, Franklin is very generous when it comes to making room for Bagheera.

“They are best friends and sometimes enemies,” Dyer said. “They share the chair — much to Bag’s disgruntlement. But they constantly cuddle on the chair or any bed they can find and don’t like to sleep without the other.”

Franklin appears to have to share his chair no matter where he sits. When Franklin chooses to steal his mother’s chair once more, Bagheera takes his place.
