After displaying his massive mane in a spectacular picture shoot, a majestic white lion becomes an Internet celebrity. Moya, a 6-year-old lion at the Glen Garriff Conservation lion sanctuary in South Africa, is a stunning creature. After standing for the camera, the unusual lion exudes pride.
Simon Needham, a British wildlife photographer, took the amazing photographs in order to raise notice of the lions’ dire predicament.
“The first time I saw Moya’s gorgeous garment, it blew me away,” the Los Angeles-based photographer stated. “I had a few instances when he got near enough for me to grab a few fantastic images as he wandered his area, despite how tough it was to get close to him.” You don’t really have a chance to appreciate the beauty of it all when you’re in the moment, but subsequently, I realized what great images we had.”
The photographs Simon took are really stunning. Moya and his magnificent mane went viral on social media almost instantly. Simon also believes that by doing so, he will be able to assist Glen Garriff Conservation Sanctuary in their efforts to support and safeguard those magnificent creatures.
“I’m really happy to be part of bringing well deserved attention to a very worthy cause at GG Conservation Glen Garriff where they have 77 lions in their care,” Simon wrote in a Facebook post.
The African Lion is a vulnerable species, according to the IUCN Red List, with less than 40,000 individuals living in the wild. According to some reports, there are around 20,000 lions left in the wild.
