Although some people believe that tying a dog with a chain is simple and light, the truth is quite different and even deadly. Because they are formed of a solid metal substance, certain chains may be rather heavy, and their weight varies based on their size and thickness.
However, it appears that the owner of an old and abandoned lot did not take into account this dog, who was wearing a very hefty chain around her neck, which, although being loose, prevented her from carrying out various activities.
Fortunately, a group of volunteers from St. Louie’s Stray Rescue learned of the dog’s plight and arrived at the scene to assist her.
When they arrived to rescue her, the dog was struggling to walk since the chain was dragging all over the ground.
A volunteer attempted to approach the dog, but she began to bark desperately, since she had no idea they were trying to liberate her and were strangers to her. The woman decided to try to gain his trust by throwing some treats at him; after all, sandwiches are typically a good choice.
Because the goodies worked so well, the rescuer was able to get her into her car and drive her to the shelter.
When they arrived at the shelter, another volunteer assisted the dog in getting out of the car, while the rescuer removed the vehicle’s thick chain. You could hear the chain colliding and sliding across the car at the time, giving you a good idea of its length and weight.
The chain was so heavy that it weighted nearly as much as the dog; however, it will soon be free of its torment.
Nobody could understand how someone could do such a thing to a dog, but they all agreed that such a person should not have pets in his life. The good news was that things were about to change, and the dog was going to experience something she hadn’t felt in years.
When one of the rescuers eventually removed the shackles from her neck, Fallon Marie, the dog, exuded delight with her lovely demeanor.
She appeared to be glad that the weight had been lifted off her shoulders, and her cheerful expression did not take long to appear.
Workers at the construction site decided to weigh the chain and discovered that it weighed over 10 pounds they were astonished.
“A weight has been taken off my shoulders,” people often say, but removing a chain like this must feel a lot better.
Fallon Marie spent an unknown amount of time with this chain, but the fact is that you will never have to worry about it again. She now has the sweetest grin, enjoys her life as if she were a joyful little puppy, and is thankful to have been given a second opportunity.
Thanks to the shelter volunteers, Fallon Marie was able to be rescued in time and now she just hopes she can find a loving family.
